Coldline project winter support for 2007-08
|
Increased fuel prices over the last 3 years saw the average domestic gas bills rise by 94% and the average electricity bills by 60%. Many people have struggled to pay their fuel bills. Energy prices are showing signs of reducing so it is important to seek advice so you can get better deals on your energy bills! The winter can be a difficult time for all and can create particularly problems for vulnerable groups in our community (older people, people with long term illness and families with children under five).
Many vulnerable groups are at risk from the cold and are more likely to suffer with coughs, colds and influenza. The flu virus attacks the cells in the respiratory tract. Flu symptoms can hit you suddenly and severely, they usually include fever, chills, headaches and aching muscles. It’s advisable to seek advice from your GP and to get a flu jab to help protect you. If you require more information contact NHS Direct 0845 4647 or NHS Direct. |
